Owaisi questions UP govt's action in Ram Temple donation theft case

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi criticized the Uttar Pradesh government's handling of the alleged Ram Temple donation theft, alleging a double standard in law enforcement.

BIJNOR: AIMIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday mocked the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case, questioning the Uttar Pradesh government's response and alleging a double standard in law enforcement.Addressing a public meeting in Bijnor, Owaisi said that if a Muslim had been a member of the temple trust and a similar scam had surfaced, the person would have faced an encounter and demolition of their house."Had a Muslim been part of the trust and the alleged scam surfaced, there would have been an encounter and even the person's house would have been demolished," Owaisi said sarcastically. He further remarked that while arrests had been made in the case, no houses had been demolished and questioned the government's handling of the matter.Owaisi claimed there was a different yardstick for dealing with people based on their identity and asked, "What is happening in Uttar Pradesh?" He also remarked that his comments might prompt authorities to change their approach.Using the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case to attack the state government's law-and-order policies, Owaisi accused political parties of denying Muslims political leadership and treating them merely as a vote bank.

Addressing party workers near Azad Chowk, he said AIMIM was willing to ally with any political force to prevent the BJP from returning to power. He also accused the BJP of pursuing communal politics and claimed the Samajwadi Party had used Muslims only as a vote bank, urging the community to become politically aware and seek leadership roles for future generations.
