Hailee Steinfeld's baby shower is all about homely vibes, and here’s a sneak peek

Although Hailee Steinfeld might have stepped away from the spotlight during the 98th Academy Awards, she embraced this momentary pause to gear up for motherhood. The ‘Sinners’ star, who is recently riding high on the success of her movie, is expecting her first child with husband Josh Allen.

The duo, who hardlaunched their relationship in May 2023, sent out the news of their pregnancy through an Instagram reel in December 2025. More recently, the 29-year-old took to Instagram to share a picture of her baby shower, which her mother, Cheri Steinfeld, recently planned. The theme was nothing exclusive, but it had all the elements that made the to-be mother feel at home. From a knitting station to the adorable gingham décor, everything around reverberated warmth.

Hailee has credited her mother for organising the whole thing. Speaking to E! the star said, “On a sunny Saturday in LA, my mom and about 30 women I love so much gathered in my most comfortable place—my backyard—for a baby shower,” she wrote in the latest edition of her Beau Society newsletter. “My mom planned the entire gorgeous thing.” For her special day, Haillee sported a satin, cream-colored Stella McCartney dress paired with Jen Fisher earrings and her favorite brown boots.

She wore her hair down and tied the look together with a neutral base and muted coral lips. The actor says that pregnancy fashion should not be restricted to loosely fitted clothes and relaxing silhouettes, and one should continue wearing what they would normally wear. "The minute I put it on, it felt like something I’d wear, pregnant or not. The key to dressing when you’re pregnant, I’ve found, is trying to wear what you would normally wear (or as close to it as you can). "Speaking about her makeup, the actor added that she “just wanted it to feel natural and pretty but a little something extra.”Although there was no specific baby shower theme, the air around felt welcoming for the baby yet to arrive. There were also plenty of gingham elements present at the shower—a pattern Hailee said she was “obsessed” with—from the furniture fabric to the tablecloths and ribbons. The knitting station also won her heart because everyone who arrived for her baby shower was able to knit a square, which is all being put together for a baby blanket.

The highlight of the baby shower was, however, a knitting station as it gave out nostalgic vibes.Hailey said it was a full-circle moment for her as her mother had taken up knitting when she was filming her first movie back in 2010. "It’s a very full circle moment for me because my mom took up knitting when I made my first movie,” she shared. “She was sitting in a trailer all day and needed something to do. It was Sudoku or knitting, and she chose the latter.

Our family would joke that she was going to knit the red carpet because she didn’t stop.” For lunch, the star ditched the lavish buffet spread and opted for simpler meals, salads and sandwiches topped with grilled cheese and jam, and a big bowl of shrimp. Josh Allen, on the other hand, also seems to be equally excited about being a fatherSpeaking to Yahoo Sports, Josh Allen revealed that he is eagerly looking forward to embracing fatherhood. “I'm very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad," he said. "It's something that I will take with great pride. And we're going to have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else.
