The truck was headed towards Hamirpur after transporting construction material. The driver alleged that when the vehicle was near the Sajeeti toll plaza in Aliyapur, the SI quietly removed Rs 20,000 from the truck cabin and concealed it in his uniform.

The incident drew a large crowd, and bystanders intervened to stop the assault before alerting the UP-112 emergency response service. A police team reached the spot and escorted the SI to the local police station.Meanwhile, someone filmed the entire sequence and uploaded it on social media. In the one-minute clip, Manish is purportedly seen confronting the cop, grabbing him by the collar and allegedly recovering the cash from inside his shirt near his waist, where it had been concealed.
The driver is also seen slapping the sub-inspector several times.ASP Hamirpur Arvind Kumar Verma said a case has been registered against the SI under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and he has been suspended with immediate effect."An enquiry has been set up against the accused officer and, based on its findings, further action will be taken," Verma said.
