Special rituals were performed for Lord Hanuman on Hanuman Jayanthi at the Sri Bhaktanjaneya Swamy Temple in Srisailam on Tuesday (May 12, 2026). The rituals were conducted by the temple management of Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy, at the temple located along the Pathalaganga route.

As part of the rituals performed for the prosperity and well-being of the world, the temple priests recited the ‘Sankalpam’ (sacred resolve). Prayers were held for the nation to flourish in peace and prosperity, for timely and adequate rainfall, for bountiful crops, and for the nation to remain free from untimely deaths and natural calamities such as fires and vehicle accidents.

Executive Officer M. Srinivasa Rao, along with temple officials and staff members, participated in the rituals.

Priests performed the ‘Maha Ganapati Puja’ to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of the programme. Later, they performed ‘Panchamrita Abhishekam’ (sacred bath with five sacred substances) and ‘Jalabhishekam’ (bath with water) for Sri Bhaktanjaneya Swamy, accompanied by the chanting of Vedic Suktas.

The deity was specially adorned and rituals including ‘Ashtottara Puja’, ‘Nagavalli Dala Puja’ (worship with betel leaves), the offering of a ‘Vada Mala’ (garland of fritters) and ‘Pushparchana’ (worship with flowers) were conducted.
