As we all know that Hanuman Jayanti is around the corner and people are excited to celebrate this sacred festival wit great pomp and show across the country. This day is celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Lord Hanuman.
This is an extremely auspicious day to celebrate birthday of Hanuman ji. The festival is celebrated on Chaitra Shukla Purnima. This year, Hanuman Jayanti or Hanuman Janmotsav will be celebrated on April 2, 2026. People worship Lord Hanuman by following various puja rituals and spiritual activities but before performing them you should know certain guidelines that we are going to mention below. Hanuman Jayanti 2026: Do's and don's to follow:
1. Fast observers should take a sankalp before starting your fast. 2. You should not get engaged in any type of tamasik activity on this auspicious day of Hanuman Jayanti. 3. On the day of Hanuman jayanti, everyone must follow celibacy, especially the seeker.4. You must do Ram Naam jap to appease Lord Hanuman ji. 5. Offering sindoor to Lord Hanuman ji on this sacred day is considered meritorious. 6. Red flowers, pure desi ghee or sesame oil should be used while worshipping Lord Hanuman.
7. One should not drink alcohol on this special day. 8. They are advised to avoid all tamasik food items such as non vegetarian food, eggs, onion and garlic. 9. Devotees should avoid drinking alcohol on this sacred festival of Hanuman Janmotsav. 10. People are suggested avoid wearing black color clothes on this special occasion. 11. You must keep this in mind that people should avoid hurting animals specially monkeys. 12. Avoid fights, verbal abuse with people on this day13. Every devotees should recite the Hanuman Chalisa and Sundarkand during the Hanuman Jayanti Puja.
