Kane is only the second player after Cristiano Ronaldo to score 20 or more goals across the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship combined.

Star striker Harry Kane scored twice in the second half on Wednesday (July 1) to help England defeat DR Congo 2-1 in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32 match in Atlanta. The brace by Kane, England’s all-time leading goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history, helped him join Cristiano Ronaldo in an elite list.

Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, is only the second player after Cristiano Ronaldo to score 20 or more goals across the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship combined.

The England captain has scored 13 goals in 15 FIFA World Cup appearances and seven goals in 18 UEFA Euro matches, taking his combined tally to 20 goals in the two major international tournaments.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, has scored 10 goals in FIFA World Cup matches and 14 goals in 30 UEFA Euro appearances for Portugal, giving him a combined tally of 24 goals.

In the list of players with the most combined goals in the FIFA World Cup and UEFA European Championship, Ronaldo and Kane are followed by France’s Kylian Mbappé. Mbappé has scored 18 FIFA World Cup goals and one goal in the UEFA European Championship, giving him a combined total of 19.

Former West Germany striker Gerd Müller scored 14 goals across two FIFA World Cup editions and added four goals in two UEFA European Championship appearances, finishing with a combined tally of 18 goals.
