Harry Kane is leading England at the FIFA World Cup 2026, and during their Group L match against Croatia in Atlanta on Wednesday (June 17), he entered the record books.

Kane opened the scoring for England from the penalty spot in the 12th minute, becoming only the second English player after David Beckham to score in three different FIFA World Cup editions.

Beckham found the net once each at the 1998, 2002 and 2006 FIFA World Cups. Kane, meanwhile, scored six goals at the 2018 edition, added two more in 2022, and has now taken his tally to one goal at the 2026 tournament.

The strike against Croatia was Kane’s ninth FIFA World Cup goal for England. Only Gary Lineker, who scored 10 World Cup goals, has netted more times for the 1966 world champions in the history of the tournament.
