Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, in a parliamentary address, condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam while praising the valour of the Indian armed forces for their precise retaliation against Pakistan. She expressed shock at fellow MPs asking why the war was stopped, urging them to consider the immense suffering of people living in border areas, particularly in Punjab and Kashmir. Badal vividly described the fear and displacement faced by families, who had to abandon their homes and crops amidst blackouts and the presence of drones and fighter jets. Highlighting the internal security crisis, she pointed to the unabated influx of drones, arms, and drugs into Punjab from Pakistan over the last decade, leading to a breakdown in law and order. She questioned why these drones haven't been stopped and asserted that there has been a significant security and intelligence failure.
