Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan and his brother V.D. Ajayakumar have been asked to respond to a police protection plea at the Kerala High Court on Friday. The plea was filed by Simi Rosebell John, who accused them of threatening her life and property.

The petition states that if anything “untoward” were to happen to Ms. John, Mr. Satheesan and Mr. Ajayakumar would be solely responsible. The petition also stated that Ms John had approached the Kerala Police via her official email to request police protection. However, no action was taken in this regard, and hence she had to move the High Court for her protection.

Ms. John was expelled from the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee in September 2024. She had alleged that Mr. Satheesan had offered her a ‘substantial sum of money’. However, she refused it as she suspected that it had been allegedly procured through ‘corrupt activities’. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas has granted time for Mr. Satheesan and his brother to file their response and will hear the matter on July 2.
