Bhopal/Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh high court has upheld the validity of the digital evaluation system used for examining answer sheets at Madhya Pradesh Medical Education University, observing that the process is transparent and reliable.A division bench dismissed a petition filed by two students of the university seeking revaluation of their exam answer sheets. The students had alleged that the digital evaluation system was erratic and that marks for certain correct answers were not included in their final scores. The petitioners included BHMS student Amarjeet Bhardwaj and M.Sc (Nursing) student Premlata Tiwari. They contended that errors in evaluation had affected their results and requested rechecking of their answer sheets.During the proceedings, the court ordered an independent revaluation of the answer sheets. However, the exercise did not benefit the petitioners -- while the M.Sc (Nursing) student’s marks remained unchanged, the BHMS student’s score was found to have further reduced.Observing no merit in the claims, the court dismissed the petition and imposed a cost of Rs 5,000 each on the students. It held that the evaluation system of the university was fair, transparent, and dependable.
