HC vacates stay on holding MPPSC main exam-2026

Bhopal: A division bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court on Thursday vacated the interim stay on holding the main exam of MPPSC exam-2025, thereby paving the way for an early main exam for eligible candidates in the state civil service exam. The bench of Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia and Justice Pradeep Mittal decided to vacate the interim stay after the petitioners themselves requested the court for it so that the future of candidates is not affected. The petitioner had challenged the validity of results of MPPSC-2025 preliminary exam and accused the MPPSC of not abiding by the reservation rules. They demanded declaration of cut-off marks for each category of candidates (general, EWS, reserved classes) and selection of candidates from reserved classes as general candidates if they score marks at par with general candidates. After initial hearings on the petition on March 25 and April 2, 2026, a division bench of the MP High Court had restrained the MPPSC from holding the main exam. However, during hearing of the petition on Thursday, advocates appearing for the petitioners requested the court to vacate the stay and let the MPPSC hold the main exam, which the court allowed while deferring hearing in the case to July 17, 2026.
