At the 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' trailer launch in Mumbai, David Dhawan broke down in tears while praising son Varun, saying, "Everybody should have a son like that." A visibly emotional Varun hugged and kissed his father. The film releases in cinemas on June 5.
Varun Dhawan is back in his comfort zone with ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’, a romantic comedy that also marks his fourth film with his father and director David Dhawan. The trailer launch event was held in Mumbai on Saturday, May 23, and saw the entire cast come together, including Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Chunky Panday, and Maniesh Paul.
The event has since taken over social media, with several videos going viral, the most emotional of them all is one where David Dhawan breaks down in tears while speaking about his son Varun.

David's heartfelt words clearly had a deep impact on Varun as well, who could not hold back his emotions after seeing his father break down. In a touching moment, Varun walked up to David, wrapped his arms around him in a warm hug, and planted a sweet kiss on him.
What to expect from 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' trailer
The trailer sets up a hilariously chaotic love triangle with Varun's character stuck right in the middle, torn between his former lover and a new romantic interest. Adding to the madness is one of the funniest moments in the trailer: an accidental pregnancy confession by both Pooja and Mrunal's characters to Varun, which takes the chaos to a whole new level.
