Many parts of Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall on Thursday evening, bringing a much-needed respite from the sweltering temperatures that had gripped the city over the past week. However, the showers also led to waterlogging and traffic snarls at several major junctions, disrupting evening commute for residents.
Key areas affected by the downpour included Alugaddabavi, Rethibowli, Nanal Nagar, Yousufguda, SR Nagar, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Paradise, Parade Ground, and Tarnaka. Commuters faced delays as roads turned slushy and traffic movement was slow.
Personnel from the Hyderabad Traffic Police and the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) were deployed across critical points to manage the congestion and assist stranded motorists.
