Ranchi: The court of additional judicial commissioner-I Yogesh Kumar on Saturday heard the discharge petition of chief minister Hemant Soren in the Bargain land scam case (ECIR 6/2023) filed by the ED and fixed Feb 11 as the next date of hearing in the case.Sources said the CM was represented by an advocate from Delhi, Meenakshi Arora, via online. His local representative, advocate Pradeep Chandra, was present in the court.During the hearing, the CM’s advocates argued that their client had been falsely implicated in the case. They stated that the CM has no connection with the land and the other accused persons in the case.The ED has filed the charge-sheet in the case against Hemant Soren and others under Section 227 of the CrPC and sections 44, 45 and 3 and 4 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act. The CM has been accused of money laundering in the case.
