Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Hero Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh in the Indian market, priced at Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Vida VX2 Plus features a larger battery pack that increases the claimed IDC-certified range to 187km, while retaining the same motor, performance and equipment as the existing model.
The company has also confirmed that deliveries through authorised dealerships will begin by the end of July 2026.The new variant is equipped with two removable 2.2kWh battery packs, offering a combined capacity of 4.4kWh. Hero claims the scooter can travel 187km on a full charge, up from the 146km claimed for the 3.4kWh version. The VX2 Plus 4.4kWh also gets a 1kW portable charger as standard, replacing the 580W unit offered with the smaller battery.
Using the portable charger, the battery can be charged from 0-80 per cent in 3 hours and 17 minutes, while a full 0-100 per cent charge takes 5 hours and 8 minutes.
The scooter also supports DC fast charging, reducing the 0-80 per cent charging time to 65 minutes and the 0-100 per cent charging time to 2 hours and 30 minutes. Hero says its fast-charging network now includes more than 6,000 stations across India. The electric scooter continues to use a 6kW motor producing 26Nm of torque and has a claimed top speed of 90kmph.
It offers Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes, along with a Boost mode for short bursts of additional performance during overtaking.Other features include a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, while the removable battery setup allows users to charge the batteries separately. Hero MotoCorp also announced that the Vida VX2 Plus 4.4kWh has been recognised by the Asia Book of Records for completing the longest journey by an electric scooter, covering 12,111km across India over 52 days.
