The district administrations of Wayanad and Kozhikode have declared a holiday for educational institutions, including professional colleges and anganwadis, on Wednesday (July 8) in view of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a red alert forecasting heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds on the day.
However, this is not applicable to residential institutions. The Kozhikode District Collector said in a release that the exams scheduled by the Kerala Public Service Commission and universities would not be postponed.
The Wayanad District Collector said schools functioning as rescue centres would not have classes till further orders.
