Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha cancelled the parole of life convict A. Srikanth and ordered an inquiry on how the parole was granted without her knowledge. In a statement, she also assured to take strict action against N. Aruna, who is viral on social media as ‘lady don’ for her alleged involvement in various crimes along with her fiance Srikanth.
Ms. Anitha informed that the Home Secretary had granted parole to Srikanth on the advice of a key official in the government, along with the recommendation from two MLAs from SPSR Nellore district. However, the local MLAs, including Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, denied giving any recommendation letters for the same.
Srikanth and Aruna’s gang have allegedly committed several murders and problems outside the jail during the regime of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Aruna reportedly blackmailed many persons by filing false cases against them. After hearing about this, the Home Minister gave a call to the victims to come forward and file complaints against both the accused.
“The YSRCP government had nurtured criminals like Srikanth and Aruna. During their rule, Srikanth was out on parole for 45 days. They will not be able to threaten and blackmail anyone like before. After thorough investigation, they will be severely punished for their crimes. Strict action will be taken against the politicians, police and jail officials who cooperated with them,” the Minister said.
