‘Horror Made Me Who I Am’: Adah Sharma on Returning to Her 1920 Roots | Exclusive

Adah Sharma, who debuted with the horror hit 1920, is set to reprise her role in its sequel, reigniting excitement for her genre-defining start.

Q. Okay, so originally you rose to fame and prominence with the horror film. It was 1920 and now there is an announcement that there is a sequel of that movie that you are coming back to. So how does it feel returning to the breakthrough franchise that you have come from and after so many years?

Adah: I feel it is a little inauspicious to talk about a project until I like to come with a trailer of anything because nowadays you know, I mean you talk about a film but till it's actually out with a trailer, I feel that you shouldn't really kill the whole expectation of it or just say anything about it.

But for me, horror is very special because I debuted in horror.I mean it was the first thing where people saw me and everybody had told me then you know, don't start your career with horror because you're not a known model. I was not a popular model or I mean I've not done anything before so it's not that I was a known face or anything. So basically the first time people see you, it's going to be horror.So don't get that image. But the audience was so supportive and people understood what's the character and that's the role.

And the love I got for 1920, again I still get for it on social media and stuff.I owe the audiences a horror movie but I'm doing two horror movies actually in 26. So I don't know when that will release. I'm actually shooting for another one right now and I can promise you that is very different from what you've seen in 1920 but again I think people are really going to like it.I have a totally different look. It takes me like two hours to get into, two and a half hours actually to get into hair and makeup which for me is very different because usually in 15 minutes I'm ready. The look is so elaborate that two and a half hours to put on the makeup and there are two looks in the film.So for one of the looks to remove that makeup takes us another two hours. So it's quite something but I'm pretty excited because again you've not seen me like that before I wait to do movies where I can do something where it's not seen.
