Kelp is one of the most underrated resources in Minecraft, and building an automated farm for it on Bedrock Edition is a great investment you can make. When smelted and crafted into dried kelp blocks, you can use kelp to smelt items, with each block having the capacity to smelt 20 items. This makes it a fantastic renewable fuel source in the sandbox title. Additionally, kelp can be composted to generate bone meal, which can also be useful. The section below provides you with a step-by-step guide on building an automatic kelp farm on Minecraft Bedrock.

NEW SIMPLE KELP XP FARM TUTORIAL in Minecraft Bedrock (MCPE/Xbox/PS/Switch/PC)

Before building the Kelp Farm in Minecraft, you will need to gather the following resources: building blocks (any solid block such as cobblestone or stone), 16x pistons, 16x observers, 16x redstone dust, 2x hoppers, 2x chest, 2x rails, 2x hopper minecarts, water buckets, and kelp. Glass is optional but recommended so you can see inside the farm while it runs.Listed below are the steps that you can follow to build a Kelp Farm in Minecraft BedrockStep 1: Build the Base Platform

  1. You can start by placing building blocks to create a platform that is 10 blocks long and 4 blocks wide. On top of both long sides of the platform, you must place a row of 10 blocks.

Step 2: Place Pistons and Observers

  1. As the next step, place eight pistons across the rows of blocks. You must ensure the pistons are facing toward the inside of the platform.
  2. Subsequently, place two building blocks on each side of the pistons, and then place the observers on top of each piston block. It is important to note that the faces of the observers are also pointing inward, matching the direction of the pistons.

Step 3: Add Redstone

  1. Continue with the building process by placing a row of blocks behind the pistons and cover the top of each block with redstone dust.
  2. You must then use your building blocks to place a block on each side of the observer rows, followed by a row of blocks on top of the observers.

Step 4: Build the Collection System

  1. Now, it's time to build the collection system. For the same, you must connect the two walls at the back using additional blocks.
  2. On the opposite side, place four glass blocks in a square, then place a double chest one block in front of and one block above the glass. Place two hoppers connected to the chest behind it, then two glass blocks on top of the chest, and two building blocks on top of the hoppers.
  3. Place two rails on top of those blocks and add hopper minecarts on the rails, then break the blocks the rails sit on so the minecarts fall and land on the hoppers.

Step 5: Fill with water and plant Kelp

  1. Finally, you need to fill the entire structure with water and dive down to plant kelp across the floor of the build. As the kelp grows and triggers the observers, the pistons will automatically break it, sending the kelp floating upward to be collected by the hopper minecarts and stored in your chest.

This was all you needed to know about building an automatic Kelp Farm in Minecraft.
