Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad Divya Prabhu G.R.J. has said that the work on the elevated road at Kittur Chennamma Circle in Hubballi would be completed by September 10, and the old (now renovated) bus station near the circle would be reopened on August 30.

Speaking to presspersons after holding public grievances meeting at Mini Vidhana Soudha in Hubballi on August 19, she said that 90% of the work had been completed and additional time had been given for the remaining 10% work.

“I will personally review the ongoing work on August 25. We have decided to reopen the renovated old bus station near K.C. Circle on August 30,” she said.

The Deputy Commissioner clarified that land acquisition for facilitating the elevated road project has been completed. The work was delayed due to continuous rain. On account of traffic issues, work on the elevated road project on Gadag road would be started on October 1, she said.

On the sorry state of Nehru stadium in Hubballi because of which school children had to perform march past and cultural programmes on a muddy playground, she said the municipal commissioner had been directed to find a permanent solution to the problem.

Under ‘Bhoo Suraksha’ scheme, digitalisation of land records is being carried out, and 100% digitalisation had been completed in Hubballi and Alnavar taluks. The other taluks have been directed to ensure 100% digitalisation in the next six months. Once the project is completed, people can download the documents by paying the requisite fee online by visiting the website, she said.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner received 20 applications, and the officials concerned were directed to redress them and dispose the applications in a time-bound manner.

On damaged roads and choked drains, she said that officials had been directed to take immediate measures.
