The Columbus Blue Jackets have added to their forward depth, announcing the signing of veteran winger Hudson Fasching to a one-year, two-way contract. The deal provides the team with a reliable, experienced option for its bottom-six forward group.
General manager Don Waddell emphasized Fasching’s work ethic, size, and versatility, calling him a high-character player who can step in whenever needed and provide value across the lineup.

Fasching, 30, has skated in 175 career NHL games, collecting 17 goals and 23 assists for 40 points. A former fourth-round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in the 2013 NHL Draft, he has since suited up for the Buffalo Sabres, Arizona Coyotes, and most recently the New York Islanders.
With New York, Fasching appeared in at least 43 regular-season contests in each of the past three years, showcasing his reliability as a depth forward.The Minnesota native was a standout at the University of Minnesota before turning pro, producing 94 points in 115 NCAA games. He also represented the United States at the IIHF World Junior Championships in 2014 and 2015, adding international experience to his résumé.
Waddell noted that his veteran presence and responsible two-way play make him a strong insurance option for the Jackets’ roster.
