A State-level flood drill aimed at strengthening emergency response systems and improving inter-departmental coordination during disasters will be conducted at the Necklace Road here on May 18 from 8.30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ahead of the exercise, a coordination meeting was conducted at the Hyderabad Collectorate on Wednesday. The exercise is being organised jointly by the government of Telangana and the National Disaster Management Authority. The initiative is intended to enhance preparedness and coordination among departments in the event of floods and other disaster situations, said a release.
As part of the preparations, a ‘Table Top Exercise’ will also be held on May 15 from 10 a.m. to 1.35 p.m. Officials will review department-wise disaster response measures, coordination mechanisms and protocols to be followed during emergencies.
