Amid a police investigation into claims that an unpublished version of former Army chief MM Naravane’s memoir, Four Stars of Destiny, has been shared online, Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he believes the former Army chief is not lying about the book’s release.
Rahul refers to Naravane’s 2023 tweet
Referring to a 2023 post by Naravane, Rahul Gandhi said there is a tweet in which the former Army chief wrote, “Hello friends. My book is available now. Just follow the link. Happy reading. Jai Hind."
Rahul said the tweet showed the book being made available and added that either Naravane is lying or the publisher is not telling the truth. “My point is either Mr Narvane is lying or it is Penguin, which is lying. I don’t think the former Army chief will lie. Penguin is saying the book is not published but it’s available on Amazon," said the Congress leader.

Naravane’s tweet carried a pre-order link, but two days later the publisher withdrew the book, and since then it has remained unavailable on e-commerce platforms.
