Aland MLA and Deputy Chairman of Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission B.R. Patil has said that he is still being considered an outsider in the Congress party.
He spoke to presspersons in Kalaburagi on June 16.
“I still haven’t received a green card in the Congress party, I am still considered an outsider by Congress leaders,” expressed Mr. Patil who is a known loyalist of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Responding to the media on the possibility of inducting him in the State Cabinet, Mr. Patil said, “Every legislator aspires to be a minister. It’s politics, where everyone wants power.”
However, the Chief Minister has to make that decision, the legislator said, and assured that he would work with integrity and dedication if given an opportunity. But he would not beg for a ministerial post in the government. “It is left to the party leadership to appoint ministers based on merit and capability,” he added.
Expressing his displeasure over the political scenario in Kalaburagi district, Mr. Patil alleged that most of the appointments made at Jayadeva hospital and Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) are of people from particular taluks.
