Ciara spoke on Friday, August 22, 2025, on The Breakfast Club radio show. The singer was asked how she feels when people call her husband, NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, “corny.” She said simply, “I don’t even have to reply to that.

” She added, “Why would I even respond to that? I know what I know, and that’s all that matters.” Then she praised her husband, calling him “the most amazing human being you can know.” That is the most important part and the heart of what she said.

Ciara went on to say that Russell is not just amazing, he is also “the smartest, most intelligent Black man that I have ever known.” She explained that who he is in private is who he truly is, and that is something “beautiful” and “different.”

When hosts mentioned that some call Russell a “simp,” she answered with a question of her own: “Who’s the man saying it?” After that, she asked people to think: “Have you ever loved someone right? Have you ever been loved right?” In her view, some critics talk without understanding. Instead of fighting back, Ciara said she prefers to say “God bless them.” She reminded listeners that everyone has an opinion, but she does not have to live her life to prove anything to anybody.

She added that some people see things one way because of how they live, and she said, “Too bad for them if they want to live life a certain way.”Also Read: Patrick Mahomes Joins Meghan Trainor In Iconic New State Farm Commercial Ahead Of NFL Season
