Jackie Shroff, in an old interview with Firstpost, shared why he slapped Anil Kapoor while filming. The crime drama featured a scene where Shroff's character slaps his elder brother (played by Kapoor). In the interview, Jackie shared that the first shot was okayed by director Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and he even got the expression on point. However, the actor added that the filmmaker asked for more.

Jackie Shroff shared, "But he (Vidhu Vinod Chopra) said, 'No, I want one more.' I slapped him. He again said, 'One more.' I slapped him 17 times for the scene."Jackie Shroff also shared why the retakes were needed. The actor stated that he couldn't just act as if he was slapping him. He said, "I had to slap him, as one couldn’t get his reaction if you slap in the air."
