'I was resting in same room Lalettan was staying' - 'Hridayapoorvam' actor Sangeeth Prathap recalls Mohanlal’s care during fever

Sangeeth Prathap, the young actor who charmed audiences with 'Premalu' and 'Bromance', recently opened up about a deeply personal moment he experienced with superstar Mohanlal while filming 'Hridayapoorvam'.Speaking in an interview with Movie World Media, Sangeeth recalled falling ill during the shoot in Kumily. “I was running a fever, and the team brought in a doctor to give me an injection. Since it was late, I was told to rest in the same room where Lalettan was staying,” he said. What followed, he described as unforgettable. “He walked in, asked the doctor about my medicines, then came to me, stood nearby, caressed my hair for almost 20 seconds, and told me to rest.

My eyes welled up. He even insisted that the day’s shoot be cancelled and continued only the next morning.”

Sangeeth said that moment marked the beginning of a stronger bond with the veteran actor. From the first day, he felt welcomed by Mohanlal. "When Sathyan sir introduced me, Lalettan instantly remembered that we had previously worked together in Thudarum. That broke the ice, and from then on, I was able to share many special memories with him," Sangeeth added.

He also remembered how Mohanlal recognised his brief but impactful role in Hridayam as the boy who beats Pranav Mohanlal’s character.

“That recognition itself felt overwhelming,” he said with pride.

'Hridayapoorvam' set for Onam release

Directed by Sathyan Anthikad, 'Hridayapoorvam' reunites the veteran filmmaker with Mohanlal after a decade, their last collaboration being 'Ennum Eppozhum' (2015). The upcoming family drama also features Malavika Mohanan in a leading role, alongside Sangita Madhavan Nair, Siddique, Lalu Alex, and Baburaj. Slated for release on August 28, 2025, just in time for Onam celebrations, the film has already raised expectations.
