ICF senior engineer dies in Chennai after tree falls on motorcycle

Chennai: A 59-year-old senior engineer of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) died after a branch of a roadside tree fell on his motorcycle near the ICF Road-New Avadi Road junction on Monday evening.

The ICF police registered a case.The deceased was identified as Jayavel of Sivalingapuram in Korattur. According to the police, Jayavel was returning home on his motorcycle after work when the tree branch snapped due to the heavy wind and fell on him. He sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. Upon being alerted, a team from the ICF police station recovered the victim's body and sent it to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a postmortem.
