Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA Pritam Lodhi faces backlash after his son injured five in a Thar crash; MLA now threatens police, raising concerns over pressure on the probe.

After Madhya Pradesh BJP MLA, Pritam Lodhi’s son mowed down five people with a speeding Thar SUV in Karera, the incident has now taken a dramatic turn as Lodhi issued threats to police officers.

Immediate after the incident of the April 16 accident, Lodhi maintained a tone of accountability. In a post on Facebook, he declared, “For an MLA, one’s son or family does not take precedence. The public is paramount. The police administration must ensure justice for the victims in Karera."

However, his stance has now collapsed. In an aggressive attack on the police, Lodhi lashed out at Karera Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Ayush Jakhar, issuing a direct warning that has shocked the administration.

“I simply cannot stomach what the SDOP of Karera has said. He warned my son not to be seen here again. I want to ask the SDOP, does Karera belong to your ‘daddy’? Normally, I wouldn’t say this, but now I want to make it clear… my son will return to Karera, and he will contest the elections. If your ‘daddy’ has the guts, let him try to stop him," he said.

He then also challenged the investigation and warned of retaliation. “I also want to remind the SDOP to take a look at our history. If you level false accusations against us, exert undue pressure, or conduct a biased investigation, we will not tolerate it, and we will certainly give you a fitting reply. I want to tell such officials, “Stay within your limits; stay within your jurisdiction."

The MLA alleged that the accident had been exaggerated “the way Congress does", claiming that in many previous accidents, even preliminary enquiries were not conducted.

‘Sounded Siren, Why Didn’t You Move?’: MLA’s Son After Ramming 5 People

The accused, identified as Dinesh Lodhi, is said to have struck three men riding a motorcycle and two women pedestrians at around 7:30 AM. A viral video from the scene shows him arguing with the injured. “When I was sounding the siren, why didn’t you move?" he asked nonchalantly.

He also warned those recording the incident, saying, “Don’t record a video, son."

The injured, Sanjay Parihar, Ashish Parihar, Anshul Parihar, Sita Verma and Pooja Soni, were taken to hospital with injuries to their heads, limbs and shoulders. The three men were on their way to Thanra village for work, while the two women were walking along the road when the speeding SUV hit them from behind, News18 Punjab reported.

According to witnesses and the victims, the vehicle had “Pritam Lodhi" and “MLA" written on the front and rear. Police in Karera have registered a first information report in connection with the incident.
