MUMBAI: IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, in collaboration with BodhBridge Education, launched an ambitious nationwide initiative to train 30,000 teachers and educators in Career Counselling Certification Training.
The online programme, which targets educators from over 10,000 schools and institutions across India, aims to strengthen career guidance for students at the school and college level.The next batch of training begins on July 4, 2025, with the registration deadline set for July 2, 2025. Interested teachers and institutions can register through bodhbridge.iitmpravartak.org.in.So far, 4,215 teachers from 22 states and union territories enrolled, and 976 completed the certification in the past six months.
The initiative is being delivered entirely online and is free of cost, with an optional certification exam available for a nominal fee.
Highlighting the value of the programme, Balamurali Shankar, Chief Knowledge Officer at IITM Pravartak, said, “Every child deserves guidance that helps them discover their strengths and chart a path towards a fulfilling career. With teachers trained in career counselling, parents can feel confident that their children are receiving informed, personalised support at schools, empowering students to make smarter academic and career decisions early in life.
”The programme is open to a broad spectrum of educators—including school teachers, principals, college faculty, and counsellors. Participants will receive access to self-assessment tools, frameworks for career guidance, and information on over 100 in-demand careers. The content has been jointly developed by experts from IITM Pravartak and BodhBridge.Founded by IIT Madras alumni, BodhBridge has over a decade of experience in career guidance, with a specific focus on rural outreach in recent years through its collaboration with IIT Madras.The programme received positive feedback from participants. “The programme was extraordinary, combining deep knowledge with practical tools to empower educators and aspiring counsellors,” said Ms. Prabhavathi Pappu of Gitanjali Vedika, Telangana. Ms. Indrani Mandal, Principal of Dream India School, Andhra Pradesh, noted, “The session provided valuable insights and boosted my ability to guide students toward well-informed career decisions.
”Participants who opt for certification can appear for a post-training assessment and receive a graded certificate from IITM Pravartak. All training materials and sessions are provided at no cost, and the programme encourages participation from teachers across disciplines and academic levels.
