NEW DELHI: IKEA India has officially opened its first store in Delhi, marking a significant step in the Swedish furniture giant’s expansion across the country. The new 15,000 sq ft outlet is located at Pacific Mall in Tagore Garden, West Delhi, and is designed to bring IKEA’s signature home solutions closer to residents of the capital and NCR.This marks IKEA’s fourth city presence in India, following launches in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. The Delhi store features more than 2,000 home furnishing products on display, with nearly 800 available for immediate purchase. Larger furniture items can be ordered online and delivered to customers’ homes, continuing the brand’s hybrid retail approach.Best known globally for its affordable, ready-to-assemble furniture and Scandinavian design, IKEA is blending large-format stores, city outlets, e-commerce, and “Plan and Order Points” across India.

These points allow customers to design personalised kitchens and wardrobes with expert guidance.

Calling the Delhi launch a “big milestone,” Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, said in a press release: “We are humbled by the positive response and love IKEA has received from our North Indian customers since we began online deliveries here in March. To finally open our first store in the heart of the vibrant capital is a big milestone for us, and we are very happy to offer the opportunity for the many people in Delhi to touch and feel the IKEA products.

The store includes room setups inspired by Delhi homes, digital space planning tools, and expert advisors on site to assist customers. A Swedish Café, serving popular IKEA snacks, adds to the store’s family-friendly appeal.Pooja Grover, country expansion manager at IKEA India, explained the choice of location: “We are constantly learning from evolving retail trends in India to introduce formats that are new and relevant for our customers.

The Pacific Mall location was chosen to meet customers where they already spend time.”The West Delhi outlet adds to IKEA’s growing presence in India, which already includes city stores in South Mumbai and large-format stores in Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
