Ilaiyaraaja’s nephew turns hero with a time travel romance

Ilaiyaraaja’s nephew, Jaiyan , is all set to make his debut as a leading man in a film titled Raja’s Playlist . A photographer and graphic designer, Jaiyan shares that his entry into films happened because it was the wish of his late father and Ilaiyaraaja’s elder brother RD Bhaskar.The story of the film, which revolves around a romance involving time travel and a playlist of Ilaiyaraaja’s songs, is by Venkat Prabhu (Jaiyan’s cousin). “VP heard that I was planning to act and said I could make one of his own stories into my debut film,” he shares. The screenplay and direction is by Sujith N Subramaniam, who was the cinematographer of Kudumbasthan.Meanwhile, Jaiyan’s other cousin, Yuvan Shankar Raja will be composing the film’s music. “Audiences will get to hear a retro Yuvan,” assures the actor. Filmmaker Sudha Kongara is the creative producer of the film and he calls her the team’s “guiding force”.
