Ahead of his visit to China for the SCO summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said it is important for India and China, as two major economies, to work together to bring stability to the world order.
Modi, who is in Japan to attend the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit, gave an indication of the purpose of his visit to China amid an intensifying tariff tussle with the United States. He said this in context of the “current volatility in the world economy".
“Given the current volatility in world economy, it is also important for India and China, as two major economies, to work together to bring stability to the world economic order," Modi told Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun in an interview.
