DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, who is leading an all-party delegation to Spain as part of India's outreach programme post Operation Sindoor, was on Monday questioned by the members of the Indian Diaspora regarding the National Language of India, to which she replied, "I think the national language of India is Unity in Diversity. This is the message that this delegation brings to the world."

She said that the Indian Diaspora can play a very important role in spreading the message of India in the country.

"The Diaspora can play a very important role in telling people and explaining that what India looks for is peace. Our freedom struggle was based on peace, i.e. ahimsa. You can influence people and shape opinion," she said.

"So much has to be done in our country and we want to do that. Unfortunately, we are being diverted. We have to deal with terrorism, war which is absolutely unnecessary," she said on the question of terrorism.

She also said that India is a safe place and the government will ensure that Kashmir is safe.

"As Indians, we have to make the message clear that India is safe. They may try whatever they want, they cannot derail us. We will ensure that Kashmir remains a safe place," she said.

The all-party delegation includes Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Kumar Rai, BJP's Brijesh Chowta, AAP's Ashok Mittal, Prem Chand Gupta of the RJD and former diplomat Manjeev Singh Puri.

Spain is the final leg of the delegation's five-nation visit, following which it will return to India.
