Former Member of Parliament and senior writer D.V.G. Sankara Rao has urged all elders to inculcate reading habits among children and youth, so that they can understand society in a better way.
Vizianagaram Writers Association president G.V. Srinivas organised a writers and poets meet in the Fort City on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sankara Rao said that reading novels, stories, poems, biographies of great personalities enables students to develop in-depth knowledge on every issue.
Mr. Srinivas lauded Vemakoti Sri Lakshmi’s writing skills and her book ‘Tolipoddu’, a compilation of poems.
The association felicitated Kanyasulkam drama organiser Bhogaraju Suryalakshmi, director and actor Eepu Vijayakumar, and writer Arasada Seshagiri. Senior writer and advocate S.S.S.S. Raju, Telugu Bhasha Parirakshana Samithi founder Samudrala Guru Prasad and writers P. Bhogarao, N. Chinna Devi, Dasari Padma and others attended the event.
