India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first against England in the fourth T20I of the five-match series at the County Ground, Bristol. With England leading the series 2-0 after the first match was washed out, the fourth T20I is a must-win contest for the Men in Blue, who need a victory to keep the series alive.Speaking at the toss, Iyer said India needed to improve their execution after suffering a crushing 125-run defeat in Nottingham."We are going to bat first. We saw the fearlessness, but we were not able to execute our plans. The boys are in high spirits. We have to have game awareness and adapt quickly. Tactically, we have to be up to the mark. The surface looks good," Iyer said.
India made two changes to the playing XI, bringing in Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna in place of the injured Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy.Earlier in the day, the
BCCI
confirmed that both Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy had sustained hamstring injuries during the third T20I at Trent Bridge. Following an assessment by the BCCI Medical Team, the duo has been ruled out of both the fourth and fifth T20Is.England captain
Harry Brook
admitted he would have preferred to bat first but was confident in his side's ability to chase."We would have batted. There's a nice, even spread of grass.
We communicated really well, and it was a very good team performance. It'd be lovely to win the series. We've got so many good players," Brook said.England also made one change, with Rehan Ahmed replacing Liam Dawson in the playing XI.
