India A men’s hockey team lose close 2-3 match against England

The India 'A' men’s hockey team suffered its second straight loss on the European tour, narrowly losing 2-3 to world No. 5 England in a hard-fought match at the Wagener Stadion on Tuesday.Despite goals from promising forwards Maninder Singh and Uttam Singh, India 'A' couldn’t hold off a resilient English side in a closely contested encounter.

Reflecting on the match, India 'A' coach Shivendra Singh said, “We initially had three really good wins on this tour, and now two really close losses. We knew that as the tour progressed, we would face tougher competition and teams.

“We are now taking each game as it comes and learning from it as we progress. We still have three games left against two really good teams, and are now looking forward to playing those.”India 'A' will now travel to Antwerpen to take on Belgium on Thursday, before wrapping up their tour with two final matches against the Netherlands in Eindhoven on July 18 and July 20.
