India lost 1-4 to China in the women's Asia Cup hockey final in Hangzhou, missing direct qualification for the FIH Women's World Cup in Belgium and Netherlands.

Women's Hockey Asia Cup 2025: India lost to China 1-4 (X/HI)
India finished as runners-up in the women’s Asia Cup hockey tournament on Sunday, losing 1-4 to China in the title clash held in Hangzhou. This defeat means India missed the opportunity to directly qualify for next year’s FIH Women’s World Cup in Belgium and Netherlands.
India initially took the lead with Navneet Kaur’s penalty corner conversion in the first minute at the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium. However, China soon found their rhythm, netting four goals to secure their victory.
Despite India holding their lead through three consecutive penalty corners from China, Zixia Ou equalized with a goal in the 21st minute. Hong Li then put China ahead with a goal in the 41st minute. Meirong Zou extended China’s lead by scoring their third goal in the 51st minute, followed by Jiaqi Zhong completing the 4-1 rout with a goal in the 53rd minute.
