Six districts in north and northeast of Telangana -- Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu and Mahbubabad -- are forecast to receive heavy rain on Friday (August 29, 2025). Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are very likely at isolated places in all districts.
The Patiala district administration has also issued an alert for several low-lying villages near the Ghaggar river following heavy rainfall in the catchment area. Himachal Pradesh also continued to reel under the impact of the ongoing monsoon season, with 524 roads, including two national highways, blocked, 1,230 electricity distribution transformers disrupted, and 416 water supply schemes rendered non-functional.

Meanwhile, water levels began receding in most rivers of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday (August 28, 2025), bringing relief to hundreds affected by the heavy rain, flash floods, and landslips over the past several days in the Union Territory.
