HQ PUPSA Partners with DSMNRU Lucknow for Advanced Soldier and Veteran Rehabilitation Services
Meerut : In a significant step towards enhancing rehabilitation services, healthcare support, and academic collaboration for serving soldiers, veterans, and persons with disabilities, Headquarters Pashchim Uttar Pradesh Sub Area, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dr.
Shakuntala Misra National Rehabilitation University (DSMNRU), Lucknow, on Thursday.The MoU was signed during a formal ceremony held at HQ PUPSA, in the presence of Maj Gen Sumit Rana, General Officer Commanding, HQ PUPSA, and Prof. Sanjay Singh, Vice Chancellor, DSMNRU. Senior officers, faculty members, and representatives from both institutions attended the event.The partnership aims to foster cooperation in the fields of medical rehabilitation, orthotics and prosthetics, assistive technology, psychological counselling, skill development, research, and innovation.
The collaboration will facilitate joint rehabilitation initiatives, specialised training programmes, internships, expert exchanges, workshops, seminars, and research projects focused on improving the quality of life of serving defence personnel, ex-servicemen, and persons with disabilities.Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of synergising military and academic expertise to develop sustainable and innovative rehabilitation solutions.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen access to specialised rehabilitation services, promote knowledge sharing, and contribute to the holistic empowerment of beneficiaries.The MoU, is valid for an initial period of three years, reflects the shared commitment of HQ PUPSA and DSMNRU towards advancing inclusive healthcare, rehabilitation excellence, and social responsibility.This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s continued focus on the welfare, rehabilitation, and empowerment of serving soldiers, veterans, and their families through meaningful partnerships with premier institutions.
