Train passengers will soon have to shift to a new system for booking tickets. Indian Railways has announced that it will introduce a single app called RailOne to bring several railway services together.
From March 1, this year, passengers will not be able to use the existing UTS app to book unreserved tickets or renew season passes. The move is part of a larger plan to simplify digital services and reduce the need for multiple railway apps.
RailOne Will Bring All Booking Services Together
Right now, passengers depend on different apps for different needs. One app is used for reserved tickets, another for unreserved tickets, and others for inquiries. RailOne is being introduced to combine all these services in one place.
Through RailOne, passengers will be able to:
– Book reserved train tickets
– Book unreserved tickets
– Buy platform tickets
– Check live train running status
– Track PNR status
– Get travel updates and railway information
The aim is to make ticket booking simpler and more convenient. This will especially help those who travel occasionally and may find multiple apps confusing. Daily commuters who regularly book unreserved tickets are also expected to benefit from having everything on one platform.

UTS App Will Be Discontinued From March 1
The UTS on Mobile app has been widely used for booking unreserved and season tickets. However, it will stop functioning from March 1, this year, and will no longer offer any ticketing services.
Passengers are advised to download RailOne before the deadline and get used to the new interface. Railway officials have reportedly said that users will not need to create a new account. They can log in using their existing UTS username and password or their IRCTC login details.
Railways Offers Discount To Promote Digital Use
To encourage people to switch to RailOne, Indian Railways is offering a 3 per cent discount on unreserved tickets booked through digital payment modes until July 14, this year.
The discount will apply to payments made through UPI, debit cards, credit cards, net banking, and digital wallets.
RailOne will soon become the main platform for booking tickets and checking train-related information, replacing several existing apps used by passengers today.
