A team of negotiators from India will be visiting the U.S. later this month to discuss the interim trade deal between the two countries, which currently lies in limbo, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has confirmed to The Hindu. U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor posted a similar message on X, as well.
India and the U.S. in early February 2026 issued a joint statement saying they have agreed on a framework for an interim trade deal. The deal itself was to have been signed in March, and come into effect by April. However, soon after the announcement, the U.S. Supreme Court invalidated the reciprocal tariffs levied by U.S. President Donald Trump.
