IndiGo Airlines issued a travel advisory due to heavy rainfall in Delhi, warning of waterlogged roads and traffic delays. Passengers should leave early and check flight status.

In light of the heavy rainfall affecting various parts of Delhi, IndiGo Airlines has issued a travel advisory for passengers flying in and out of the city. The advisory highlights that several roads leading to the airport are experiencing waterlogging and traffic congestion, which may cause delays for travellers

Passengers are advised to plan their journey to the airport accordingly, leaving earlier than usual to account for potential traffic snarls. They are also encouraged to check their flight status on the IndiGo app or website for any updates.

In a post on X, the airline assured that its teams are closely monitoring the situation to ensure smooth operations and prioritise passenger safety and comfort. Travellers are cautioned to exercise caution while driving on wet and slippery roads.

“Heavy rainfall is affecting large parts of #Delhi, and some roads towards the airport are experiencing water build-up and traffic delays. If you have a flight, please leave earlier than usual and check your flight status on our app or website https://bit.ly/31paVKQ. Be careful on wet and slippery roads. Our teams are actively monitoring the situation to keep operations going smoothly," the airline posted on X.

By issuing this advisory, IndiGo aims to help passengers prepare for their journeys and minimise disruptions caused by the inclement weather.

Meanwhile, on Thursday evening, light rainfall lashed parts of the national capital. Earlier in the day, a drizzle was witnessed in Delhi. The rainfall is likely to continue tomorrow as the IMD has issued an alert.

However, the rains caused traffic snarls across various places in the national capital.

Since morning, the Delhi NCR has been covered with clouds. By evening, dark clouds covered the sky and strong winds started blowing, followed by the rainfall. It is raining in many areas. Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, and Faridabad.

Heavy rainfall hit several areas of Delhi, including ITO, around 09:30, resulting in significant traffic congestion and making it challenging for commuters to reach their destinations. The downpour and subsequent traffic snarls caused considerable difficulties for people trying to get home.
