Indira Krishnan recalls how Salman Khan's prank on her left her in tears after she slapped him for a scene in 'Tere Naam': 'Aap thappad maarogi toh phir kuch bhi hosakta hai'

Actress Indira Krishnan who will be seen next in Ranbir Kapoor's 'Ramayan' playing the role of Kaushalya has been a part of many memorable movies. She was also seen in 'Animal' but Salman Khan starrer 'Tere Naam' was a milestone for her.

In a recent interview, the actress has opened up on her experience of working on 'Tere Naam' and how it was not easy at all. She also reminisced how Salman Khan once played a prank on her and his bodyguard also joined in.

'Tere Naam' was directed by the late Satish Kaushik and starred Bhumika Chawla. Indira portrayed the elder sister of Bhumika’s character. She spoke about a memorable prank Salman Khan played on her during the shoot, right after she had to slap him in a scene.

She revealed that Salman and his bodyguard took the joke so far that she was left in tears, genuinely worried that her career might be over.She recalled how Salman, along with Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty—who were known as the ultimate pranksters of that time—used to engage in such prank sessions. “They used to have prank sessions,” she told Galatta India, mentioning she had worked with two of them. Before the slapping scene, Salman jokingly warned her, saying, “Aap thappad maarogi toh phir kuch bhi hosakta hai.

Aap dekhlo iska phir kya honewala hai (If you slap me, then anything can happen. You see what is going to happen to her next).

”

Indira shared how Salman’s bodyguard joined the fun and pretended to be serious, telling her, “Ma’am aapne kya kardiya? Press waale aagaye. Aap van mai jaake baith jaao (Ma’am, what have you done? The press people have come. You go and sit in the van).” Although she had a slight suspicion that it might be a prank, their convincing act made her believe the situation was real.

“When I looked outside, I could see media people there.

Although it was common for reporters to come to film sets back then, it did not strike me at that time. They even said, ‘Ma’am, you will be banned from the industry. Kya kardiya aapne, thappad maar diya Bhai ko?!’ I started crying. Although they eventually revealed that it was a prank, they went on with it for about one hour.”Calling Tere Naam a “beautiful movie,” Indira praised Satish Kaushik as a remarkable actor-director. She will next be seen portraying Kausalya in the Ranbir Kapoor-led Ramayana.
