 2 held for snatching mobile on Ring Road, stolen goods recovered

INDORE: Khajrana police on Saturday cracked a mobile-snatching case and arrested two accused within hours of the crime. Khajrana police station in-charge Manoj Sendhav said that the police had recently intensified patrolling and surveillance in hotspot areas across the zone to curb property-related crimes such as robbery, theft, and snatching.A detailed strategy was chalked out by Additional DCP Amrendra Singh and ACP Kundan Mandloi, and implemented by Khajrana police station in-charge Inspector Manoj Singh Sendhav.The incident occurred on July 8 around 6 PM when complainant Yogendra Yadav, a resident of Talawali Chanda, was standing in front of The Marriott Hotel on the Ring Road using his phone. Suddenly, two unidentified men on a black motorcycle, without a registration number, snatched his smart mobile from his right hand and fled towards the Khajrana crossing.

A case under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Khajrana police station following the complaint.During investigation, the police examined CCTV footage from nearby shops and houses, which provided visual clues about the accused. Based on a tip-off, police learned that one of the suspects was spotted near Velocity Talkies. A team was immediately dispatched, and when the suspect attempted to flee upon seeing the police, he was chased down and apprehended.

He was identified as Dharmendra Parihar, 21, a resident of Devki Nagar who works in fire alarm installation and has studied till Class IX. His associate, Ansh Yadav, 20, a fruit vendor from Sunder Nagar in Khajrana, was later arrested. He too had studied till Class IX.The police recovered the black motorcycle used in the crime and the stolen phone. During interrogation, the accused confessed to committing the crime to fulfill their personal desires and earn quick money. Further interrogation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other similar incidents in Khajrana and surrounding police station areas.
