Indore police checks over 1,000 with criminal records in late-night crackdown; action taken against 492

Indore Police conducted a city-wide operation targeting criminals and anti-social elements. Over 1,000 individuals were checked, leading to legal action against 492. Authorities executed numerous warrants and summonses, while cracking down on drunk driving and public intoxication.

INDORE: Indore Police carried out an extensive surprise combing and patrolling operation across the city late Friday night, targeting goons, habitual offenders, and anti-social elements across all four city zones and traffic divisions.A total of 1,015 individuals with criminal backgrounds were checked during the operation, out of which 492 were subjected to appropriate legal action. The police also served over 289 warrants, including 67 permanent, 84 arrest, and 138 bail warrants, along with 136 summonses. In a stern move against reckless driving, especially under the influence of alcohol, 97 offenders were booked under 185 sections of the Motor Vehicle Act, and 12 others faced action for rash driving. Additionally, 17 cases were registered against individuals for consuming alcohol in public places. In separate actions, Aerodrome Police arrested one person with a country-made pistol and a live round, while MIG Police registered four cases against those carrying illegal firearms. Tilak Nagar Police also apprehended a history-sheeter for violating his externment order.Preventive action was taken under various sections of BNSS against 71 habitual offenders.

The crackdown also involved targeted action against 203 criminals with a history of violent offenses, 61 burglars, 31 robbers, 73 individuals involved in knife crimes, 15 drug peddlers, 37 history-sheeters, 37 individuals under surveillance, 42 externed or NSA detainees, 9 involved in crimes against women, and 15 linked to incidents of arson or property damage.

Several absconding criminals were also apprehended during the operation, and legal proceedings have been initiated against them.Police also collected affidavits and prepared dossiers from many of the suspects, warning them against engaging in future criminal activities. Indore Police have made it clear that such strict surveillance and enforcement actions will continue in the days ahead to ensure public safety and curb criminal activities.
