Indore police crack down on 736 offenders in overnight citywide operation

Indore: Indore police launched a crackdown on criminals, habitual offenders and anti-social elements across the city, taking action against 736 people during a special combing and checking operation conducted between the night of June 13 and the early hours of June 14.The operation was carried out across all police station limits to curb crime and maintain law and order. Police teams, led by senior officials, conducted surprise checks, combing operations and surveillance activities.During the drive, police verified 1,458 suspects and offenders and initiated legal action against 736 of them. Also, more than 326 warrants, including 125 permanent, 88 arrest and 113 bailable, were served.

In addition, 138 summons were served.Police also took action against drunken driving. A total of 205 motorists found driving under the influence of alcohol were checked, with 185 cases registered under the Motor Vehicles Act. Seven cases were registered under the NDPS Act against individuals found consuming narcotic substances, while 43 cases were lodged against people consuming alcohol in public places.As part of the drive against illegal weapons, police arrested six accused from different police station areas.

To strengthen surveillance, police deployed drone patrols in identified hotspot and shadow areas. During the operation, officers checked more than 722 known offenders.Apart from enforcement measures, police officials interacted with residents during area visits and conducted awareness campaigns on cybercrime, crimes against women, the harmful effects of substance abuse and road safety.Officials said the sustained action against anti-social elements and law violators would continue in the coming days as part of the commissionerate’s strategy to maintain public safety and strengthen law enforcement across the city.
