Industrial zone Sri City observed the 55thNational Safety Day at its premises in Tirupati district on Wednesday, emphasising a ‘safety first’ approach.

Sri City president (Operations) Satish Kamat, who hoisted the safety flag and administered a pledge to the industrial workforce, employees and students from neighbouring schools, highlighted the importance of strict adherence to safety protocols, consistent use of personal protective equipment and compliance to established standards.

“Safety extends beyond the workplace,” Mr. Kamat said, calling attention to responsible behaviour on the roads, observance of traffic rules and ensuring safety practices at home.

Meanwhile, Sri City managing director Ravindra Sannareddy in a message called for shared responsibility in advancing safety standards across Sri City. He urged the stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring a safe environment, adding that Sri City continued to prioritise safety.

Assistant general manager (Security and Vigilance) Y. Ramesh and manager (Environment, Health and Safety) K. Narendra Babu also spoke, while students of Chinmaya, Accord, ZP High schools at Irugulam and Madannapalem participated.

Winners of the week-long safety competitions received prizes.
