Compulsory education is a core principle of the Constitution, but disparities persist in access to quality education and healthcare, said scholar Prabhuraj Nayak. “Children of the poor and the affluent study in different institutions, and similar inequalities exist in medical services. This raises serious questions about equal opportunities,” he said.

He was speaking at an Ambedkar Jayanti programme organised by the district unit of the Karnataka State SC/ST Employees’ Federation at the State Government Employees’ Cultural Hall in Koppal on Wednesday (April 15).
