Mahesh Babu comes from the highly influential Ghattamaneni family in Telugu cinema. He is the son of the legendary figure from the industry, Telugu actor and producer, Krishna Ghattamaneni. Mahesh Babu has been a part of the industry since the late 90s and has become one of the biggest stars in the current generation, delivering multiple super hits.
Apart from his massive remuneration, the actor’s income also stems from multiple businesses he owns.
Mahesh Babu’s production house
Coming from the film family, Mahesh Babu owns a well-established production house by the name G. Mahesh Babu Entertainment, also called GMB Entertainment. Under the banner, he has backed commercially successful films like ‘Srimanthudu’, Adivi Sesh’s ‘Major’, and ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru.’
Entry into the theatre business
Mahehs Babu also spreads his investments into the theatre business.
He also ventured into cinema ownership with AMB Cinemas in 2018. It is a premium multiplex chain located in the city. He launched the cinema in partnership with Asian Cinemas. Additionally, Mahesh Babu is also set to launch a second theatre by the name AMB Classic, which will be a new 7-screen multiplex.
Luxury dining venture
Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, in 2022 entered into a partnership with a popular business group, Asian Group, and Minerva.
They launched the luxurious AN Restaurants in Banjara Hills. The “AN” in the name stands for Asian Namrata.Investment in health and wellnessIn 2024, the ‘Guntur Kaaram’ actor made a strategic investment in Fitday. It is a Hyderabad-based nutraceutical and nutrition startup.On the work front, Mahesh Babu is currently working on his upcoming adventure action thriller, ‘Varanasi,’ directed by SS Rajamouli. The movie includes a star-studded cast - Priyanka Chopra and Prithiviraj Sukumaran in key roles. It will be released on April 7, 2027.
